GDT at Crafty Cats Weekly Challenge Blog #345

Good Morning,

Here is my design for the fabulous Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge

This week the theme was to add a snowflake, or in my case lots of them.

So I thought lets have a play on my new Brother Scan n Cut machine at welding shapes together
So I chose several snow flakes from the built in designs and made then different sizes
then welded them together to get like a larger image
then cut them out in silver encased glitter card from my stash
then using the same designs in small single flakes in white glitter card and
layered them all up using foam pads to get plenty of dimension
add in a few gems and beads and the greeting is from a tag set  last year's from do crafts.

Hope you like the card and when I get more adventurous I will be using the scan n cut more.

Crafty Cats Weekly Challenge #344 GDT

Happy Friday Crafters,

Here is my design for the Guest Design Team over at

This weeks challenge was anything goes with a twist using die cuts or punches,

Well many of you that know me knows that I can not stop where embellishments are concerned.
This pretty MDF butterfly was covered with Docrafts pretty pink papers and instead of using the same paper I cut for smaller patterns that all matched up, stuck them on using mod podge glue and to ensure it stuck down well went over it with a Brayer.
To get a real neat edge when using any MDF shape I always use a sanding block/paper downwards to get that neat finish.
Where the seems of the paper marched up I used some pretty pearl strips and then started to work on the centre decorations.
I used a tattered lace coil rose die and a mixture of X cut punches and Martha Stewart flower punches in different sizes all using a mixture from the paper pack.
Then its time to switch on that very trusty glue gun and get decorating.
I started with some sisal natural fibres to treat like a little birds nest in the centre then started to add in the flowers and some leaves and to finish it off I used 2 large pearl pins from Creative Expressions for the antennae and some mixed pink and cream stamina.

Mobile you enjoy this blog and why not pop over to the blog and see all the fantastic design done by the team.

Lots of crafting love X

Crafty Cats Weekly Challenge

Hi All, Sorry for posting this late as I have been away visiting family and had limited access to the web.

That being said here is my guest design card for the lovely people over at:

This cute little character was crying out for pink and glitter, so that's exactly what I did.

Terminate is coloured with pro markers, and the pink bits highlighted with Crafters Companion Glitter Pens.
The gorgeous backing papers are from Hobby Craft and have a mix of pink, blue and grey designs.
The icicle trim was a die from Britania Dies and the trees are Spellbinder Dies.

Hope you like the card, why not pop over to the blog at Crafty Catz and enter the challenge, or have a look at all the great designs by the design team.

Lets Craft and Create Challenge #118

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Well a little early I know but I have limited access at the moment, so I thought whilst I am connected lets got for it.

So here is my design for the challenge over at

The challenge this month is either Halloween or fall, so I thought as a real challenge to me personally as I never do anything for Halloween I thought I would give it a go.

So I mixed my love of shabby chic, vintage and steampunk together with the Halloween and dug out a gorgeous vintage corsets stamp which is from Creative Expressions, stamped onto Orange card with black embossing powder.
The backing is embossed with an A4 folder from Crafters Companion, then I entered the large stash of lace to get this gorgeous black lace, whilst digging I found some black tulle and feathers that I thought went perfect with the Graphic 45 Steampunk Halloween papers.

I matted and layered up the cards with some matching dotty paper and finished it all off with some black buttons from my stash.

Hope you enjoy this different take on Halloween and feel inspired to create a gorgeous card.

Why not pop over to the blog and look at all then other fabulous design from the design team.

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

Hi All,

Sorry a bit late posting as I am away visiting family and connection has been a bit dodgy.

So here is my design for the challenge over at the Worlwide Design Team Challenge,
using the fab little image from Julia Spiro. She was crying out to be done in pink but thought I would try a different colour for a change.
I used pro-markers to coloured in and used an old paper pad from trimcraft to tie all the colours together.
The flowers are all die cut and punches using the same paper pad.

Hi hope you like it and enjoy all the design teams creations.

Thanks for visiting.

Guest Designer At Craft Catz

Good Morning Alchemists

Today my card for the challenge over at Crafty Cats this week as guest designer, where the theme is Ribbons.

In my craft stash I found this gorgeous linen Ribbon and thought
I have the perfect paper pad to match that.
The paper is Blissful Cotton 12 x 12 paper pad by the wonderful Anna Marie Designs.
I tore the edges to give it a shabby chic style and covered an 8x8 card, then cut a matching strip to layer up underneath the lace and ribbon.
The flowers are all die cuts using the Vintage Floret die by Heartfelt Creations, which makes  great rose style flowers.
Then using a glue gun to keep all the embellishments secure I stuck on some natural moss from Anna Marie Designs along with the flowers and some pretty pink and yellow stamens.
For extra touches I added in some die cut leafy sprigs and some pearl beads, along with little extra ribbon bits to tie it all together.

Hope you enjoy the card and please visit the craft cats blog and have a go at entering the challenges.

Crafty Cats Weekly Challenge Guest Design Team Member

Good Morning Alchemists

So today I thought I would share a different type of card with you all, something other than an 8x8 square card.

The fabulous image is by the wonderful sponsor In Time For Tea

The challenge this week is anything goes with a twist of folds, folds and more folds.
So with this in mind I decided to use the Crafters Companion Diesire Die Square Accordian Die with 3 sections to it. you will see that I have cut off the tabs that connect the 3 inner sections, this allows you a better view of the image.

The paper pad was an old 6x6 paper pads by trimcraft and I die cut a mixture of flowers and butterflies using Britannia dies.
I coloured the image using pro-markers and used glossy accents on the little bubble hearts.

Cute isn't she!

Hope you have enjoyed this blog, why not pop over to the below pages
and look at all the other fabulous designs.
